Pennsylvania is a big state with a small rental market, so the 34 companies here cover a lot of ground. Twelve rent motorhomes, eight have travel trailers, seven offer camper vans. Sixteen will deliver to your site, which matters if you would rather not drive a rig through city traffic. The average rating sits at 4.4, and a few operators are close to perfect. What the fleet looks like
Motorhomes are the biggest group at 12, and that makes sense for long hauls across the state. Travel trailers come in at 8, and they suit families who want to park the rig and drive the truck separately. Camper vans number 7, and they are the easy choice for two people and a loose plan. One company offers one-way rental, so if you want to end somewhere other than where you started, ask about drop fees before you book. If you have never rented before, size matters more than you think. A 30-foot motorhome is a lot of vehicle on a two-lane road.
Who to call first
Faith Adventure RV holds a 5.0 from 79 reviews and rents both motorhomes and travel trailers. Carefree RV is right behind at 4.9 from 182 reviews, and it delivers. Fireside RV rental Lancaster also sits at 5.0 and covers all three main types, with delivery. Fleetra Inc. is the one to call if you travel with a dog, since it lists pet-friendly rentals along with delivery and insurance. NOMADSRV LLC. focuses on camper vans and rates 4.8. My Lazy Camper Golf Cart Rentals delivers too, though its listing does not show RV types.
Watch the fees I missed
I once got hit with a generator-hours charge at pickup because nobody explained the meter. Ask how generator use is billed and what the mileage allowance is before you sign. The security deposit comes back after the rig is checked in, so walk the whole vehicle with your phone camera rolling. Confirm what the insurance covers and what your own auto policy already handles. Kitchen and linen kits are often extra, and pet rules vary by company even where pets are allowed. In Pennsylvania, summer and holiday dates go first, so reserve early.
