Travel Trailer Rental in Phoenix, AZ
Phoenix makes a solid base for a travel trailer trip. You can haul it north to the cooler pines or west toward the desert quiet. Fourteen rental companies here have travel trailers, with an average rating of 4.5. I've rented four RVs over the years, and one was a real lemon, so I know what to check before you tow. Here's the honest rundown on what's available and how to avoid the mistakes I made.

Who rents travel trailers here
The 14 companies in Phoenix give you options, but not all are equal. Operation Recreation Camper Rentals has a perfect 5.0 from 27 reviews and will deliver to you. Rapid RV Rentals also scores 5.0 from 25 reviews and rents motorhomes and camper vans too. WayPoint 48 near Union Hills and 7th Ave has a 4.9 and includes a kitchen. Elite RV Rentals is the biggest with 47 reviews at 4.4, and AZ RV Rentals offers delivery. Fireside is new with just two reviews. Four companies deliver, which saves you the tow vehicle hassle.
What to check before you tow
A travel trailer looks simple until you're the one backing it into a site. Ask about the hitch and brake controller setup, and confirm your vehicle can handle the weight. I once rented a trailer with a bad battery, so test the lights and fridge before you leave. Generator hours can sneak up on you: some rentals include a set allowance, then charge per hour. Confirm that in writing. Also ask about the security deposit and what insurance covers; your auto policy might not extend to a rented trailer. Pet rules vary, so mention your dog upfront.
Booking and trip timing
Summer and holiday weekends fill up fast, especially for trailers with delivery. Book a few weeks ahead if you need a specific pickup time. Phoenix is a starting point for trips to Sedona, the Grand Canyon or the Mogollon Rim, so factor in extra time for towing. Kitchen and linen kits are often add-ons; ask what's included so you don't pack duplicate pots and pans. If you're flying in, delivery is worth the fee. One-way drop isn't offered by any of the 14 companies, so plan a loop back to Phoenix.
