About Outdoorsy
Outdoorsy is an RV rental marketplace based in Austin, connecting travelers with owners who list motorhomes, camper vans, and travel trailers. You can tow a trailer yourself or have an RV delivered to your destination. Reviews land all over the place. Plenty of renters call the process easy and praise hosts who answer quickly, and one described a ten day van trip that went well. Others report problems with refunds and unexpected charges, and a number of reviewers flat out call it a scam. The 3.5 rating across more than 1,000 reviews reflects that split. Because listings come from individual owners, the experience varies by vehicle and host. Read the reviews for the specific rig you are considering before you book.

“May 2026 Update: Another excellent Outdoorsy experience — this time with a fantastic Colorado host, Barry - I am updating my prior Google review from May 2025 because we rented through Outdoorsy again this year for the same Cub Scout…” – Braun M., Edited 5 months ago, on Google
“I can't say enough positive things about our experience with Fireside RV Rentals and Outdoorsy! We reserved an RV with another company and the day before we were to pick it up, they canceled!” – Sheri U., 2 years ago, on Google
“Outdoorsy worked out great for us. We had a fantastic 10 day van trip. The host was excellent. He responded immediately whenever we had a question. Easy to deal with. There when we needed him and not when we didn't - just what you want.” – Howard F., 5 months ago, on Google
