About Kauai Rooftop Campers
Kauai Rooftop Campers runs out of Anahola and outfits travelers with rooftop campers on 4WD vehicles. Reviewers often mention the rooftop tent, calling it easy to set up and comfortable. The trucks come with a full kitchen kit, snorkel gear, bedding, and camp chairs, plus a local guidebook pointing to legal campsites around the island. Many guests praise the staff for being responsive and kind, and several note that check-in went smoothly. One reviewer had a delay at pickup while the vehicle was being prepped, but said the team was moving fast. Others mention swapping vehicles quickly when an issue came up. The fleet includes 4Runners, Jeeps, and Toyota Tacomas, and people describe them as clean and well equipped. There's also a Clean Ocean program where you can earn rental credits by collecting beach plastic. With a 4.6-star rating from over 170 reviews, this family-owned outfit has a solid track record.

“Our experience had a lot of good points and a few things that could have been improved. We rented a 2023 4Runner with a roof top tent. When we arrived at the stated pick-up time, the car hadn't been cleaned or stocked.” – Olivia H., 8 months ago, on Google
“Really cool Jeep — it's in very good condition (and cool looking too)! The car was very clean when we got it, as was the tent. The rooftop tent was very easy to handle and comes with an embedded mattress that's quite comfortable.” – András R., 4 months ago, on Google
“Only Rooftop Camper Rental Company I will ever use! I used KRC in 202 right before COVID hit. I loved the experience and the small business support. This trip was no different and only cemented my future use. Check in was perfect for me.” – Michael R., 7 months ago, on Google
