About BaseCamper
BaseCamper in Salt Lake City rents out a 4x4 Toyota 4Runner set up for overlanding. The rig comes with a roof-top tent, a fridge, a portable toilet, a Garmin Overlander GPS, and inReach mini satellite comms. Camping and cooking gear are part of the package too, so you can head into the backcountry without booking a crowded campground. Reviewers keep coming back to the owner, JP. People describe him as responsive and say he walks you through the vehicle thoroughly before you leave. Several mention an onboarding video that cleared up how the rooftop tent works. Guests who had never slept in one before said setup and takedown were easy. Drivers report the 4x4 opened up trails and canyon routes around Green River and Moab they could not have reached otherwise. The preloaded navigation points of interest got a few shoutouts. Reviewers also liked that they could pack clothes and food and find the rest already in the truck. Pickup sits close to the airport.
